Singer-songwriter LIGHTS is no stranger to us here at The Xtra Mile. From previously having interviewed the talented singer and checking out her set numerous of times, once again we had the pleasure to watch her perform in front of hundreds of fans at Panamania CIBC Pan Am Park.
July 20, was truly a magical day for fans as LIGHTS stepped on the stage at 9:35 P.M. and literally had everyone on their “Toes” as she performed the hit song. Singing some other songs from her album “Little Machines” fans were singing and dancing to every song. Including fan favourite “Running with the Boys” . As late as it was getting, LIGHTS kept the energy up the whole night.
Going back to her debut album “The Listening” LIGHTS took it down to a lower tone by performing what was once a huge hit “Last Thing on Your Mind”. This really made the fans who have been there since 2009 happy to hear some old tunes. LIGHTS then sat down on her piano asking fans to choose between “Ice” and “Saviour” It was a unanimous decision to choose “Saviour”.
Of course the set wouldn’t be complete without performing fan favourite “February Air”. This was truly a remarkable moment when every single fan was singing along and at one part of the chorus, LIGHTS let the crowd do the singing. With smiles all around, LIGHTS then performed her first big single “Drive my Soul” the song that made me fall in love with this talented artist! An amazing throwback performance!
Closing the set with one of her newer singles “Up We Go” LIGHTS truly delivered an amazing set for Panamania 2015!
