Jocelyn Alice was the first performer to take the stage performing three songs, one of which was a combination of the rap single “I’m a Hustla” and Beyonce’s “Diva”. A fun and exciting set to watch, Alice closed her set with radio hit ‘Jackpot’.
Next up on stage was Coleman Hell whom delivered amazing stage presence. With the sound of Banjos everywhere, his music definitely had a country feel to it. Best known for his single “Fireproof”, the whole audience were very amped during his performance. He even jumped right off stage into the audience.
The next performer to hit the stage was Canadian sensation Scott Helman. Only 20 years of age but bringing in lots of noise in the audience. Helman performed some of his best singles such as “Sweater” and “Machine.” Then what a better way to end his set with “Bungalow” leaving smiles all around.
We’ve seen Shawn Hook perform last year at the CHUMFM Fan Fest. His performance was very similar to last years, there was a lot of rhythmic dancing going on and fans singing along to his singles such as “Sound of Your Heart”, “Million Ways”, and his newest single “Relapse”
Canadian duo Tegan & Sara were the next act to hit the stage. This being their first performance in years the duo sang their hits such as ‘”I Was a fool'” and some new singles such as “Boyfriend”. The duo had the crowd dancing and singing along through their whole 45 minute set, and they made sure to end their set with their smash hit “Closer” .
At around 11pm, headliners X Ambassadors took the stage, Fans were static to see the indie rock band perform some of their hit songs from their debut album VHS. I mean who wasn’t singing along to “Renegades” ?!
We had a great time at the first ever IHeartRadio Fest, and can’t wait for next year!
